Frequently Asked Questions

What are the Marina Office Hours?

The office is open 9:00 to 5:30 PM, seven days a week. Fuel/service dock hours are the same. If you can’t find someone in the office during regular hours, please call 1-802-372-5954 – it’s likely we are helping a customer in the ship store or elsewhere.

How does the Ship Store work?

You’ll find a variety of boating supplies, parts, oil, batteries, fuses and misc. hardware in the Ship Store. The store operates on an “honor-system” basis. Find what you need, bring it to the marina office to pay. If you can’t find what you need, we are able to order anything boat related and it will arrive usually the next day.

What about Parking?

Each marina member is issued a parking tag to hang from the mirror of their vehicle when parked at the marina. Members are encouraged to park in the boat yard area first, and if no space then the grassy area behind the Ship Store. The grassy area is typically used for restaurant customers. Be mindful of where you park, especially in spring, as boats are being launched daily, and you don’t want to block a boat that is ready for summer! If you have guests bringing a car for more than a day, please let us know they belong with you and have them park near you if at all possible. If they are on a day trip, have them park in the grassy area behind the Ship Store where the restaurant customers park.

Where should I leave my Dinghy?

There is not room in slips nor is it safe to raft your dinghy with your boat while docked. Dinghies may be left at the dinghy dock for short periods, otherwise please pull your dinghy to shore.

Can I grill on my boat while docked in my slip?

Grilling on the dock is prohibited. Grilling on your boat is not grilling on the dock.

Is the water supply on the docks potable?

Yes. Our water supply is tested monthly at a lab in Burlington.

What is the pump-out policy?

North Hero Marina works with the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department to be able to provide waste system pump-outs free of charge, in an effort to keep Lake Champlain CLEAN. Pump-outs are available at the service dock by our dock hands during regular marina business hours of operation. If possible, please try to time your pump-outs during weekdays to avoid busy weekend traffic at the service dock.

Shower House & Pool

Marina members are issued a key which allows 24-hour access to bathroom/shower facilities.

The pool is unattended and is available to you and your guests while they are with you. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY. No smoking at or in the pool. No glass containers. The pool is only available to marina members and their visiting guests, and to transient boaters during their paid stay at NHM. THE POOL IS NOT OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC or restaurant customers.

Ice

Ice is available for purchase. Grab what you need and pay in the office or at the dock house.

Dock Carts

Courtesy dock carts are available for your use. They can usually be found under the deck of the office. Please return there when finished using.
